Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

Our curriculum was based upon the type of distance learning found a traditional online universities blended with the knowledge gained at international makeup schools. Our courses are designed, demonstrated and operated by professional makeup artists.
The course is four weeks long. Our entire curriculum is taught completely ONLINE via written, visual diagram and video/audio information. This is NOT an e-mail correspondence course it is a virtual classroom complete with other students and a professional make-up artist as your instructor. You will need to log in daily with your student login name and password to view your lessons, complete assignments/exams and upload photos. You will have a student profile viewable by only your instructor and your classmates for the duration of the course. You will be asked to interact via messaging within the online system, most often with your instructor for critique but in some instances fellow students.
You can check out screen shots by clicking on the "More Information" button for the course you are interseted in.

Are you accredited?

No, but we are working on it! We hope within 1 to 2 years we will be able to offer accreditation to our graduates.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes, you do receive a certificate of completion awarded to you by Olive Artistry when you have passed the entire course.

How does grading work?

Grading is based upon a point system you need 325 points out 400 to achieve passing status. If you are nearing the end of the course and your instructor feels you are at high risk of not passing you may be asked to revisit the areas of the course that proved more challenging to assure you have a complete understanding and bring your points up to a satisfactory number. We are here to help you learn quickly and easily. Your instructors are in place to help you achieve your goals of beginning your career as a professional make-up artist.

Do you have a payment plan?

We do have a payment plan!

We try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to this because we understand that some times it’s hard to come up with one lump sum for tuition.

Your tuition is the remaining balance after the deposit has been deducted. We can break the tuition up into two or four scheduled installments paid as you go for the duration of the course.

We cannot include the deposit in the plan. Payment cannot be scheduled for after the course has completed. Deposit must be paid two weeks before the course begins so we have enough time to send you your kit. We do not run credit checks or ask for personal references.

Payments must be received on time or the online system will automatically lock you out of the course. In most cases this lock out can be reversed as long as it is within three days of late payment wherein after the three days have passed you may have to be re-enrolled into the next available course providing there is an open slot. Should a slot come available and your payment still cannot be processed we will give you a three month grace period to re-enroll free of charge providing there is avalability. After these three months have passed the tuition in full will be required in order for you to retake the course.

Do I have to have previous training to take your course?

No, we accept all levels of experience. The course is designed for all levels of Make-Up experience, from the make-up artisit looking to sharpen their skills to individuals that just have experience applying make-up to themselves.

Whats the schedule for the courses?

You will be given a new lesson and materials everyday for 4 weeks. You can work at your own hours and whatever schedule suites you best. However, because this is still a classroom enivronment the course will progress at a certain pace. Each section has a due date and all lessons and activities must be completed by the specified due date. Assignments will be issued Monday through Friday of each week. You are allowed to finish assignments over the weekend. The next week will begin on the following Monday and you will only be allowed to access them if you have the prior week completed. All lessons usually take less than 1 hour to complete.
